Have a computer, need a computer?

Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland, in partnership with CCBDD, operates their Computers Again program at CCBDD’s Beachwood AAC. (This program replaces CCBDD’s CHIP program, which had been in operation until late 2014.) Individuals with developmental disabilities will still be able to purchase affordable, “like new” computers, and some will receive employment training under the Computers Again program.

How can I or others donate computers?
Computers can be dropped off at any Goodwill store in Cuyahoga County and Lake County. Computers may also be dropped off at Beachwood AAC during regular business hours.

Will I get a receipt?
Goodwill Industries will issue a donor receipt.

How do I or others purchase a computer? If you are interested in learning how to purchase a discounted, “like new” computer, please visit their website for details and an application: Goodwill will continue to offer individuals with developmental disabilities an opportunity to purchase a laptop for $25 and a desktop for $10.

What is CCBDD’s role?
CCBDD is sharing space at the Beachwood AAC for this program. CCBDD’s Assistive Technology department will continue to support individuals with developmental disabilities who purchase computers be able to use them for their needs.
