Professional Development Opportunities

The Cuyahoga County Board of DD provides the opportunities listed below as a service to those interested in professional development in the field of DD. Inclusion on this list does not constitute an endorsement of the training offered.

Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention

This program offers a safe, non-harmful behavior support system designed to help human service workers provide the best possible care and welfare to assaultive, disruptive and out-of-control individuals during the most violent moment. This training offers preventive strategies, as well as some basic physical interventions designed to enhance the participants’ ability to deal with an acting out individual.

Inside the Mind of a Domestic Terrorist: The Unabomber

Dr. Phillip J. Resnick, who worked extensively with the FBI on the Unabomber case that baffled the FBI for almost two decades, will discuss his work on the case, including both the complex mental-health and legal challenges it presented. This event is co-sponsored by Passion for Change and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. Register here!
