Yes, everything is Just-A-Buck!

In today’s economy, more and more shoppers are turning to bargain retail outlets like dollar stores to extend their budgets. The Just-A-Buck store that is a joint venture of the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities and SAW, Inc. offers shoppers the opportunity to save money AND do good.

Located in the Midtown Shopping Center in Parma since 2009, the store employs 15 workers who have developmental disabilities who handle stocking and receiving, cleaning, check-out and bagging. A second store will open before the end of the year in South Euclid, near the intersection of Mayfield and Green roads.

Merchandise, all of it no more than a dollar, includes balloons, cards and party supplies, health and beauty aids, baby products, housewares, hardware, candles, stationery, cleaning aids, seasonal items, food, candy and many more items. The store is immaculate and extremely orderly, with wide aisles that making shopping easy.

Before making the commitment to the store concept, SAW spent more than two years researching various franchise opportunities and investigating Just-A-Buck. A consumer study showed that more than one-third of all U.S. households shop at dollar stores on a monthly basis. The study further showed that dollar stores, once patronized primarily by low-income households, hold growing appeal for moderate and upper-income households, older consumers and ethnic groups.
