Charting Our Course

At the conclusion of several weeks of strategic planning in 2009, the Cuyahoga County Board of DD had a hefty three-year plan that outlined our future in thorough detail and a dilemma: how to share this wealth of information with various constituencies. Certainly, the average consumer, parent, advocate, staff member, elected official, agency head or journalist wasn’t about to wade through a four-inch tome. We needed something that would capture the key elements of the plan in a format that would be engaging and easy to digest. It was important that this summary set the tone and establish the themes that we would be pursuing in the coming months.
Charting Our Course contains a summary of where our organization stood as it approached the first year of the new strategic plan, a description of our interaction with constituents to gain their input, the principals and values that guided us in developing the plan and our values for the individuals we serve followed by a reader-friendly explanation of each of our priorities for the coming years, expected outcomes for the organization and benefits to the individuals we serve.
