People First of Cuyahoga County
We are proud to support, along with the The Arc of Greater Clevleand, the local chapter of People First, a nationwide self-advocacy group that gives individuals with developmental disabilities training to build skills in decision-making so they can advocate for themselves.
The group is open to all individuals with developmental disabilities in Cuyahoga County. Meetings are held on the third Monday of the month (except January and February). All meetings are held from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The goals of People First are:
- Community awareness
- Teaching our communities about people with disabilities
- Community support
- Advocating for the supports people need to live, work and be a part of the community
- Health insurance
- Promoting various ways for self-advocates to work and obtain health insurance
